ZedBoard

This is our experinece in porting Wyliodrin to the ZedBoard. It is experimental.

Write XiLinux on the SD Card

  1. Download XiLinux SD Card image from Xilybus.
  2. use PiWriter to write the SD card Image
  3. Mount the SD Card on your computer and copy the following files onto it: BOOT.BIN and ramdisk8m.image.gz.
  4. Rename devicetree.dtb to devicetree_ramdisk.dtb.

Boot XiLinux

  1. Insert the SD Card into the ZedBoard
  2. Connect the board to the Internet using the Ethernet port
  3. Connect a USB cable to the UART port on the board
  4. Start Arduino IDE
  5. Start the ZedBoard
  6. On the Arduino IDE, select the serial port for the ZedBoard
  7. Open the Serial Monitor and set the baud rate to 115200
  8. Use Carrige Return
  9. You should see XiLinux booting

Install SSH and login

  1. Once you see the prompt ([email protected]), install open ssh server using
apt-get install openssh-server 

If you use Arduino IDE, write the text in the textbox on top of the window

# Ceate a user named user and add it to the sudo group

adduser user 
adduser user sudo 

# Find the board's IP Address

ifconfig 

# Connect to the board unsing ssh

ssh user@board-ip-address 

Resize the SD Card

sudo fdisk /dev/mmcblk0 
d 
2 
n 
(enter 4 times) 
w 
sudo reboot 
# after reboot 
sudo resize2fs /dev/mmcblk0p2 

Download and install wyliodrin-server

sudo apt-get install git 
git clone https://github.com/alexandruradovici/wyliodrin-server-nodejs.git 
cd wyliodrin-server-nodejs 
./wyliodrin-server-zedboard.sh
